
Lewis W. Arend
Lewis W. Arend (Lew), Managing Director, has built a loyal clientele for the last thirteen years serving organizations in the United States and foreign countries. Clients continue to retain Mr. Arend to identify, evaluate and recruit key personnel for assignments requiring successful experience in chemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, specialty products, packaged goods, petrochemicals, refining, scientific, environmental and/or process industries organizations.
Prior to entering the search profession in 1984, Mr. Arend had a successful sixteen year career with two Fortune 500 companies: Dow Corning Corporation and Armco, Inc. He attained senior management positions in sales, product marketing and human resources, all of which included responsibility for evaluating and selecting key personnel. Mr. Arend's unique combination of technical skills, line management experience and exposure to corporate human resource functions allow him to provide consulting based on firsthand experience. Further, his work in human resources management affords him valuable experience in training, management development, organizational development and outplacement consulting.
Mr. Arend earned both a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University. He spent two years in the U.S. Army as a systems analyst for the North American Air Defense Command following completion of his M.B.A.
James M. McKinley
James M. McKinley (Jim), Co-Managing Director, graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. Mr. McKinley joined Continental Can Company where he became Regional Manager of Industrial Relations until moving to the Eastern Hemisphere in 1975 with NL Industries-- Oilfield Service Group, where he lived and gained extensive international experience in the North Sea, Africa, the Middle East, and the Pacific Rim. Upon repatriating to the United States, Mr. McKinley held senior level human resources and organization development positions with two FORTUNE 100 companies.
Mr. McKinley has conducted long term consulting arrangements and specialized recruiting for several clients in environmental technology, pipelines & gathering, NG & gas liquids, marketing/trading of hydrocarbons, industrial gases, sales/marketing, refining/processing, equipment manufacturing, process and/or project engineering disciplines, co-generation, utilities and independent power production, operations and maintenance, chemicals, human resources, and research & development.
Ken Adams
Ken Adams, Manager, Eastern Hemisphere Operations, has developed excellent client relationships throughout the world in the last twenty-three years of international recruitment. Having traveled the world, most recently, Europe, Middle East and Far East clients have received the benefit of Mr. Adams diligence in the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of key personnel. Markets served include: Chemical Process Industries, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Engineering & Construction. Mr. Adams has managed assignments with major corporations where advisory services, recruitment strategy and methodology, compensation and benefits, and personnel policies and procedures play a critical role in the service provided.
